I have been in love with painting for a long time. My infatuation with it began in college, where I was exposed to the exceptionally skilled paintings of my room mate. It ignited a fire in my mind and heart,  giving way to something that has become the center of my being. This has propelled me through life with a purpose.

Spending 25 plus years tattooing has informed my painting with an adherence to structure, composition,  and intention.  A study of bold color,  pleasing forms and striking designs that are powerful and commanding from any distance.

My work is whimsical, it conveys a joyful sense of humor and a studied interpretation of my surroundings. The use of birds as subject matter began as a vehicle for color in the composition, by using their colors  as a basis to build my palette around. My work with them has since evolved  to infusing the real with a graphic surrealism. The juxtaposition of the natural world and an abstraction of their environments.

I paint things that amuse me and bring me joy, and in the end I hope that the viewer can share in a brief moment of happiness.
